Rain Bird LNK2 — 2nd Generation WiFi Module (for Existing Controllers)

What is it and what's it for?

It's a 'WiFi translator' that plugs into a Rain Bird irrigation controller you already have installed, so that controller (which until now only worked with buttons on the wall) can talk to an app on your phone.

Real-world use cases

• At home: You already have a wall-mounted Rain Bird controller in the garage and you're tired of walking over to change the watering schedule — this module lets you do it from the couch with your phone.
• In a business or workshop: A property manager overseeing several Rain Bird controllers installed across different homes or sections can manage all of them remotely, without sending someone out to each one in person.

How to avoid buying the wrong one

• This module is NOT a controller — you need to already have one of the compatible models installed (TRU, ESP-TM2, ESP-ME3, ESP-RZXe, or ESP-LXME2) manufactured after November 2016.
• If you don't own any of those Rain Bird controllers, buying this module is useless on its own — you need the controller first.
• Check your current controller's manufacture date, not just the model — the same models made before that date may not be compatible.
