About HidroLab

My name is Falcon. I work every day with automation systems — sensors, controllers, relays, industrial protocols — and at some point I started applying that same mindset to something a lot more everyday: watering my own yard.

That's when I noticed something odd. Most buying guides for irrigation products online are written by people who have never installed a solenoid valve or had to troubleshoot why a moisture sensor is giving erratic readings. They're generic lists, reshuffled from other generic lists.

This site was born from the opposite idea: evaluate Amazon's best-selling controllers, sensors, and valves every month, but look at them with the same criteria I'd use to evaluate any component of an automation system — compatibility, communication protocol, how easy the install actually is, and whether the manufacturer delivers on what it promises.

What you'll find here

  • A monthly ranking of the best-selling irrigation products on Amazon, updated with real sales data.
  • Honest technical notes on every product — we don't rewrite the manufacturer's description, we say how well (or poorly) it actually performs based on the available evidence.
  • Decision guides for anyone automating their irrigation for the first time, whether with commercial products or building their own system from individual components.

How the site is funded

HidroLab participates in the Amazon Associates Program. This means some product links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This doesn't affect which products we recommend or how we evaluate them — the ranking is based on real sales data, not on which product pays the highest commission.
